£2000 Raised by Charity Ball
The recently retired Chairman of Denbighshire County Council, Cllr. Joan Butterfield, who completed her year of office last month, raised £2000 at her Charity Ball in Oriel House which was subsequently presented to her chosen charity, Cancer Research UK—Breast Cancer in a cheque for a grand total of £3,500.
The Annual Ball is one of several events arranged throughout the year by the serving Chairman including the Chairman’s Civic Service and the Denbighshire Carol Service, and the proceed raised at these events are presented to their chosen charities at the conclusion of their term of office in May.
St Asaph Town Council By-Election
A by-election will be held to fill one vacancy for the East Ward on the Town Council. Candidates wishing to stand must submit completed nomination papers by NOON Friday 25 June 2010. If more than one valid nomination is received the Returning Officer will hold a by-election on Thursday 22 July 2010 with the polling station being located at the School Hall, St Asaph VP Infants School. Denbighshire Playday 2010
The City of St Asaph Town Council and NEW (North East Wales) Play are working in partnership with numerous organisations that provide for children’s play across the county, to organise a large celebration for this years annual Playday.
The event is an opportunity for all children and young people across Denbighshire to engage in a wide range of play opportunities ranging from den building to rope swings to water slides, so please do be prepared have loads of fun and to get very messy!
The theme of this years event is ‘’our place too’’. So we are encouraging children to play out and participate within their local community. By facilitating these opportunities, we hope to raise awareness of children’s play and the importance of children taking ownership of their play spaces within communities.
The event will be held at Roe Plas Meadow, St Asaph on Wednesday 4th August 2010 and will run from 1pm – 4pm.
