Housing Group President Receives OBE

"A Perfect Day" is how Mrs Eurwen Edwards, honorary president of the Pennaf Housing Group, described receiving her OBE from Prince Charles recently.
Mrs Edwards, who lives in Rhyl, was a founder member of Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, which is now part of the Pennaf Group with its headquarters on the St. Asaph Business Park, has been awarded the honour for her "Services to the Community."
Mrs Edwards has previously been awarded the British Empire Medal for services to the community and has also received a special lifetime's achievement award for her work in the housing and support sector.
"Going to Buckingham Palace was the most wonderful honour," said Mrs Edwards. "But the honour should also go to all those who have worked alongside me in voluntary community ventures over the years, particularly all at Clwyd Alyn Housing, who continue to make such a difference to communities across North and Mid Wales."
"People need good homes and support where they can feel safe so that they in turn can make a positive difference to the places where they live," she said.

Community Poll

A Poll of the Local Government Electors of our neighbouring community of Bodelwyddan was held on January 7th following objections raised as a result of proposals in the Local Development Plan to allocate large swathes of land for residential and business development.
The question asked of voters was "Should Denbighshire County Council continue with the proposed development for Bodelwyddan?"
Thirty residents cast their votes in favour with a "Yes" vote and 394 registered their disapproval with a "No" vote, giving a majority of 364 against the proposal.
1645 were eligible to vote, 425 ballot papers were issued. The turnout was 25.8%.
