Public Meeting

Now that the Local Community Safety Group (formerly ‘Crime & Disorder’ Group) and the Neighbourhood Police Meetings have folded, St. Asaph Town Council wishes to form a ‘Tidy Town Community Safety Group’.
A Public Meeting will be held on Monday, September 8th at 7pm in the Council/Community Room, Roe Plas, with the express purpose of forming a committee with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and a Council member from each ward leading the way.
The Council will be inviting representatives of various local groups to attend together with any members of the public who are interested in the wellbeing of St. Asaph and its residents.
The Council feel that the all the people who live in the city should have a voice, both young and old, and sincerely hope that you will put the date in your diary and come and join them.
The Mayor, Cllr. Elsie Powell said:- "We feel that if members of groups involved in the community and others could work together for the benefit of all, it would be a huge step forward"

World Talent Finalist

Ross Barnes, son of Geoff and Chris Barnes, Bishops Walk, reached the finals of a World Wide Talent Competition for Fashion and he, along with one other UK entrant and 16 overseas entrants were at the final in Triest, Italy, recently.
Ross, who was educated through the V.P., Esgob Morgan and Denbigh High Schools went on to Yale College, Wrexham and from there to London to study at the Chelsea College of Art and Design from where he gained a BA in Textile Design. He then proceeded to Central St. Martin’s in London from where he recently gained an MA in Textiles for Fashion. This led him to exhibiting nine designs on the Cat Walk at London Fashion Week in February this year.
Since then he entered the World Wide Talent Competition for Fashion (www.itsweb.org) with 1060 entrants and gained a place in the final along with just seventeen others - a huge achievement.
Ross said that although he did not win the experience was great. "To even get as far as the finals with over 1000 entrants was really exciting and I found the experience really worthwhile," he said.
