What is a ‘First Responder?
A first responder is a person who makes themselves available within their community to attend potentially life-threatening emergencies - trained in Basic Life Support and Defibrillation.
The Welsh Ambulance Service will train members of the community to deliver necessary life saving techniques when faced with a cardiac arrest situation whilst awaiting the emergency ambulance’s arrival.
Why Do We Need "First Responders"?
First Responder Schemes are additional valuable resources which enable people to learn the skills necessary to begin life-saving treatment before an ambulance arrives, but do not, in any way, replace existing emergency ambulance services.
The Welsh Ambulance Service will train you in these skills at NO COST and will also provide you with all the equipment and support you will need to carry out your role.
Can Anyone Become a "First Responder"?
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 65, be physically fit and have a clean UK Driving Licence. All applicants are required to undergo a Police Check before being registered to the scheme.

Hot Air Balloon Competition
To win free tickets for the Hot Air Balloon Festival at Llangollen just answer the following question.
