Mindless Vandalism
Just weeks after the official opening by the Mayor of the colourful new playground on The Common, a despicable act of mindless vandalism has robbed the children of one of their favourite pieces of play equipment.
On Tuesday evening the large basket swing was set on fire leaving nothing but a charred support ring and damage to the rubber safety flooring.
Such a destructive act of stupidity has upset many of the youngsters who selected the equipment and really enjoyed using the communal basket swing where they could sit together and chat while swinging.
The damage could not have been inflicted at a worse time with the school holidays underway and an increased number of visitors using the playground.
Hopefully Police will apprehend the culprit who will be dealt with severely. Meanwhile many children and parents continue to use the playground and enjoy the remaining facilities.

Home Start
Are You a Parent or Grandparent? Do You remember how it feels to have young children? If you could support a local family for a couple of hours a week, then we would like to hear from you.
Denbighshire Home-Start Sir Ddinbych is a local voluntary organisation that provides support, friendship and practical help to families with young children who are finding it hard to cope.
Volunteers visit families at home each week, supporting parents in situations such as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle. They provide non-judgemental practical and emotional support and help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope.
If you are a parent with a couple of hours each week to spare, then there is another parent who desperately needs your help and friendship.
There will be a short course of preparation for new volunteers starting in September. This course can be accredited with the Open College Network, although this is entirely optional.
If you think you may be able to help or would like to find out more, then please call us for an informal chat on 01745 814819.
Special Message Of Thanks to the Good Citizens of St. Asaph
Very many thanks to Pierre Bellis who found keys belonging to the new Council/CommunityRoom and handed them in to the Library. It was much appreciated. Special thanks also to all residents who reguylarly collect litter and dispose of it carefully to try to maintain St. Asaph as the lovely place it is.
Wanted - Three or More Good Citizens To Water the Council Planters
The Town Council have three planters and they do get very dry. It would be very much appreciated if someone living close by could give them some water occasionally. There is a planter on the Cathedral corner, one near the entrance to the Old Palace and one at the old gate to the Old Deanery on the mini-roundabout at the bottom of St. Asaph.
Many Thanks
Cllr Elsie Powell
Mayor
