Open Day At OpTIC Technium

OpTIC Technium (Optoelectronics Technology and Incubation Centre) a landmark building on the St. Asaph Business Park, is holding an Open Day on Tuesday, September 9th. The business community and the general public are invited to join in celebrating the successes and achievements of the award winning European funded project.
Based at the heart of an industrial cluster of optoelectronics companies, OpTIC brings together centres in business incubation for new hi-tech businesses: a technology centre for Research and Development as well as a conference and training centre all on the same site.
The event will showcase innovative technology at work; experience 3D holograms, student designed laser projects, large astronomical optics, solar energy and photovoltaics and more.
Visitors will experience practical demonstrations, tours of the facility and an opportunity to meet high tech companies based at OpTIC and other industry partners.
The day will begin from 12.30pm with a business networking lunch (by invitation only) sponsored by Denbighshire County Council providing an opportunity to engage with hi-tech businesses and their support community. Our doors will open to the public from 5pm - 7pm welcoming families and children to tour the hi-tech facility and our new and exciting technology projects.
The event is sponsored by NEWI and DCC.

Tidy St. Asaph

Children of the V.P. Infants School have been busy designing posters to "Keep St. Asaph Tidy" as part of a St. Asaph Rotary project. The Rotarians thought all the designs were very good and had difficulty in selecting the best. Finally, after much deliberation it was decided that books tokens should be awarded to the following winners:- Alfie Taylor (Nursery), Faye Williams (year 1), Hannah Ward (year 2) and Maggie Jen Davies (year 2) The winners received their prizes from Rotarians Tom Yuille and Ron Organ. It is now planned to display copies of the winning posters across the city.
(Faye Williams was absent at the time of the presentation)
