Over 4000 Party In the Parc

Over 4,000 party goers thronged the Roe Plas Meadow for the 2008 Party in the Parc breaking the attendance record despite the threat of inclement weather.
James Stone of ITV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ was one of the major attractions along with a array of performers from across the region.
For James Stone the event was his first outdoor gig despite being well known throughout the local club scene and having appeared all over the world. Another band with an established reputation and growing following was St. Asaph’s own ‘Evolve’ and the crowds were also entertained by the music of the sensational Goodfellas ten piece rhythm and blues soul band with Kyle Parry and Ralph Latham. The Duffs, The Reads, Box of Frogs, The Dirty Dogs, Toni Bragg and John Doe completed the line-up and kept the party swinging. A bigger and better stage this year added to the visual impact of the performances with superb lighting, smoke machines and lasers adding to the atmosphere.
Sadly a small number of trouble makers were in evidence but police and security staff were on hand to quell trouble quickly and deal with offenders. At the close of the event some bad behaviour spilled out onto the streets but again, police were immediately on hand to deal with the trouble makers and some arrests were made.
For the vast majority of party goers the event was a huge success. The weather, although unseasonably chilly and windy, improved as the day proceeded and everyone enjoyed a great day.
On Sunday morning, as the great clean up got under way, a number of local residents volunteered their services and comments heard were "We had such a great time we felt we had to come and help clear up" - "It was a fantastic day and we really had a great time" - "It was my birthday and it was the best party I’ve ever had".
