Biggest Petition Presented
Over 5,200 signatures
County Councillor Bill Cowie this week presented a petition to Denbighshire County Council of more than 5,200 signatures in support of a relief road for St. Asaph - the biggest petition ever received by DCC.
The presentation was made on behalf of St. Asaph Town Council who are aiming to secure a protected route for a relief road on the new Local Development Plan.
Members of the Town Council are also planning a visit to Cardiff to lobby Welsh Assembly members and present the petition to Assembly members.
Meanwhile the traffic continues to choke the High Street and Roe with all its attendant dangers to pedestrians and other road users.
The Council have received support for a relief road from other local councils within the Vale of Clwyd and from Assembly members.
At a special meeting of the Town Council on Wednesday, July 23rd, it was unanimously decided to support a route to the east of the city, generally following the former railway, with a junction off the A55 in the vicinity of Pont Dafydd.
